COMPETETION RULES

Women entrepreneurs across all industries are invited to apply to compete in our annual WEA INDIA Pitch Competition. During this competition, female entrepreneurs looking for seed and Series A level funding will pitch their early-stage start-up on stage to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs and investors to be judged based on the innovativeness and viability of the product or service. Winners will stand a chance to receive funding and be mentored by industry experts.

You’ve got nothing to lose. Just record and upload your best business pitch that’s less than two minutes (please), and send it to us. The top 5 semi-finalists will be invited to the Women Entrepreneurship Summit 2K18, where they will pitch their idea to a panel of judges and a live audience, for a chance to win INR 50,00,000.

For Participation at Pitch Competition of FEE Rs 10000, will be payable Rs 7000 will be refunded on Nonselection for the Pitch Competition . However , the participant will be authorized to attend the summit as Delegate

Your pitch should address the following questions:

»a. Entrants can be one person or a team. There is no limit to the number of team members allowed; however, those who pitch must have an equity stake in the business.

»b. Your pitch must focus on what products or services you can offer.

»c. Your business model must be original and designed to generate sales/revenues and profits.

»d. Applicants must not exceed the established time limits for pitch presentations, which have been specified for each round of the competition.

»e. Incorporating or utilizing props, PowerPoint presentations, all forms of media, or any external aids to facilitate your pitch presentations is acceptable.

Overall Pitch Criteria

Your pitch should address the following questions:

»a. What problem does your business solve?

» c. How much are you selling it for?

» b. What are you selling, and who are you selling to?

» d. What are your current and projected sales revenues?

WHO CAN APPLY?

» Your startup business should be no older than 4 years old

»At least one founder of your business should be a woman entrepreneur

»Pitches cannot exceed Bussiness Proposal Must be submitted on the pay of the Evnet

» Completed and signed Participation Form

»Participant’s most recent business card

»A business proposal must be submitted

»Pitches cannot exceed 5 minutes.

Submissions must be the original work of the applicant. WEA-INDIA reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry for reasons including, but not limited to:

»violates any local, state or national law and/or appears to be unethical in nature

»was previously awarded a cash prize in the competition

» does not follow application directions or submits an incomplete application;

» does not meet the eligibility requirements; or

» individual is discovered to not be a full, active and leading member of the business.

must be submitted in MS PowerPoint format and mailed to pitch@weasummit.org

PROCESS

Round One

» All teams must register using the registration form on this website.

»Electronic submission: Pitch decks and video must be submitted via the submission link on the website by 5:00 PM on August 15th ,2018.
All soft-copy files must be submitted in MS PowerPoint format and mailed to pitch@weasummit.org

» Presentation of the pitch deck must be no longer than 2 minutes.

»Five entrepreneurs will be shortlisted to pitch on the day of the event.

Please Note : The two-minute video submissions are intended to be a guideline for vetting potential semi-finalists. Contestants will not be disqualified for videos within the two- to three-minute range. However, this flexibility will not be applicable during the semi-final and final rounds. While on-site at the Summit, rules regarding time-length will be strictly adhered to.

Final Round

»Pitch must be presented by female member of the team.

»Format: Pitch presentation (5 min) and Q&A (3 min)

» Presentation of the pitch deck must be no longer than 2 minutes.

»Criteria: Teams will be reviewed and judged according to factors mentioned in the criteria as well as quality of pitch delivery.

»Finalists will stand a chance to win funding of INR 50 lakh Rs. and to be mentored by industry experts.

Please Note :All semi-finalists and their guests are responsible for their own travel and hotel accommodations. In addition, as a contestant in the WEA INDIA Women Entrepreneur Pitch Competition, your name and likeness may be used for future advertising and promotional purposes. It is advised that you obtain the appropriate legal documentation to protect your business idea or product. WEA INDIA is not liable for duplication of your business idea or product by a third-party. Prize money will be released after all mentoring sessions are completed.
